Dean Johnson

Dean Johnson

Dean Johnson, our Head Golf Professional, has been a PGA Member since 1995. Over his 24 years as a Golf Professional, he developed his skills while working at Westchester Country Club, Saint Andrew’s and Fenway Golf Club.

All three Professionals Dean worked for won the coveted Merchandiser of the Year awards from the Met PGA during his tenure. In 2015, Dean was honored as the Merchandiser of the Year by the Met PGA. Leewood is proud to have Dean as the Head Golf Professional and congratulate him on this wonderful acheivement!

Playing tournament golf especially in the winter months had Dean traveling throughout the country playing various tours and PGA of America events. Though Dean had three titles to his name, being a PGA Head Professional became his desire. Since 2006, Dean has brought great experience to Leewood as an accredited club fitter, certified Flexor sports trainer, seasoned instructor and an experienced merchandiser. Dean brings exceptional instruction to the membership, fashioning his style from Leadbetter, McLean and Pelz while using video analysis. He is dedicated to every member at Leewood and will do everything possible to make our experience the best it can be.

David Chong

Our new PGA 1st Assistant, comes with high regard from every facility he has worked. David’s teaching credentials are excellent, beginning golf as a young boy in Rochester learning from Craig Harmon. David’s love of golf is apparent and many of the area’s top Professionals respect his Professionalism as indicated when I reached out during the interview process. He earned a special certificate from the PGA as a Master Teaching Professional. David has extensive junior experience as well. Playing four years in College, he won four individual events along the way. I am sure he will be instrumental in guiding our Junior players. Though teaching will be a big piece of his responsibility, he will be a part of every aspect of our operation this year.

Xavier Flemming

Xavier began working at Leewood last winter in the simulator room and continued through this past winter as well. He is a Registered PGA Assistant Professional and has been busy advancing his skills over the past year. Xavier has been teaching through the winter and will continue this coming year. His wonderful personality and positive attitude excites me, as he becomes an even bigger part of my Professional team this year.
